Rockwall is a North Texas which was named for a literal rock wall which was discovered in the middle of the 19th century. The town is not huge but, is near Dallas and is certainly home to many of its own amenities and cultural opportunities. The beautiful Texas weather and the laidback atmosphere of the people make Rockwall a great place to live!
The heart of the city is the downtown area. Fine shopping, dining and service abound in the historic Main Street area. There are Christmas and other holiday events in this part of the city, as well. There is no shortage of fun to be had in this area. On a trademark Texas sunny Saturday morning head out to the Farmer’s Market. It is open from 8 – 12 from May to September and hosts over 30 vendors. . Located on the Historic Downtown Square, it is an ideal way to get fresh produce, spend time in the community and spend time in the lovely and historic downtown area.
Rockwall's harbor is both a commercial and recreational spot set on the shores of the stunning Lake Ray Hubbard. The harbor holds concerts and events and is known for its live music and fun atmosphere. There are also lovely places to get a drink or grab a bite while taking in the lake views. A facility called Shenaniganz is an adult-oriented arcade and game center located in the Harbor area. There is no better way to spend a beautiful Texas day in the sun than on the banks of Lake Ray Hubbard enjoying delicious food, good music and a party atmosphere.
